News WELL Project - VEC Equality for Women Conference in Mayo
At a two-day conference held in Mulranny in December, to celebrate the successful completion of the WELL project, Dr. Katie Sweeney, CEO, Mayo VEC, announced the outcome and keys findings of the Equality for Women project. In particular, the project highlighted inequalities in the area of access to further education for women who are not on the live register, under the access requirements of further education and training provided by government agencies. Moygownagh Art Exhibition 2008
Moygownagh was a hive of activity when the Women of the North West officially unveiled the art exhibition entitled ‘Rural Expression’ on the 20th June 2008.
Former EU Commissioner – turned artist – Padraig Flynn was among the many locals and visitors taking a sneak preview of the 53 works included in the exhibition. Read more here
Childcare and IT Graduations 2007
A graduation ceremony was held on Monday, 12th December 2007 at Moygownagh Community Centre. It was a joyous occasion as 47 students from Ballycastle, Ballina, Crossmolina, Kilfian and Moygownagh stepped up to receive their certificates. 12 students received FETAC Accreditation in childcare. 20 students received FETAC Accreditation in IT.
